Nashville SC played its first home match of the 2018 season in front of just under 19,000 fans on a cloudy and misty day in the Music City. While it didn’t break the USL record for first home match as the club had hoped it was good turnout given the circumstances. The match could have been better. We knew going into the season the team was built defensively in hopes of getting a top 8 finish and making the playoffs. Well, 180 minutes in and Nashville SC still doesn’t have a goal. Chances yesterday were few and far between. Pittsburgh had the upper hand the first 70 minutes and if not for Perkins would likely have lost. On the positive the last 20 minutes the team performed better winning sever corners. Almost every corner was hit directly to Moloto who connected on one and would have scored an unlikely winner for Nashville except a defender was standing on the line and blocked it. If they are going to play this style of soccer better results need to come soon.
